He compared it to a RULER that flexes within limits and tied it to EQUITY. ❌ The analogy fails. The law is not a ruler that snaps back. Equity does not allow bending. It applies only when the law is silent or unclear and never contradicts statutes. ⚠️ This is dangerous. BENDING THE LAW may decide when rules apply and to whom. When the OMBUDSMAN, the CONSTITUTIONAL GUARDIAN of ACCOUNTABILITY, claims flexibility, whose favor will it serve: the powerful, the connected, or ordinary citizens?
