The poet speaks as if everything connected to that person has been carefully preserved—their eyes, their memories, their pain, their presence, and even the love that was never returned. The beauty of the poem lies in the repeated idea of “سنبھال رکھی ہیں” — I have kept them safe. It suggests that even after everything has fallen apart, the lover has refused to let go of the memories. And perhaps that's what makes these verses so relatable even today. In an age where people move on quickly, delete conversations, remove pictures, and replace relationships, there are still people who quietly carry an old love within them. Sometimes, moving on doesn't mean forgetting. Sometimes, it simply means learning to live while keeping certain memories untouched.
