@marisadventuresinjapan: Welcome to Japan’s deepest (and creepiest) train station: Doai Station in Gunma Prefecture 😱🚉 Hidden deep underground, this abandoned-looking stop is nicknamed the “Mole Station” because you have to walk down 486 steps (and climb them back up 😭) just to reach the platform. There’s no elevator, barely any people, and the echo of your footsteps makes it feel straight out of a horror movie 👻💡 I was the only one there when I went and I had the great idea to get to the station in the evening and wait two hours by myself for the train back to Yuzawa! It was completely empty, foggy, scary and pitch dark outside 😭 I was very scared and I wasn’t even sure the train would arrive ahaha but I was fine lol It’s actually part of the JR Joetsu Line, and you can get here directly from Minakami Station or from Tokyo via Takasaki, I came from Yuzawa, Niigata, since it’s not so far away!
