I love Taylor, I’m a fan, but this record was not broken in earnest. Adele did not have 30 variants and she did not have fans who bought multiple copies of the same album. I literally see people on here buying 1-2 copies of each variant. If you’re running a race and you have to take multiple short cuts to win, did you win fairly? No.

I would listen to Adele 65 if she ever made it, but the discourse saying Adele only had one variant is mute becuase she didn’t put her album on streaming for almost 7 months so the only way you could listen to it is by buying it.

People discrediting one of these insane accomplishments pisses me off. Both are insanely impressive. Both are impressive in different way. Adele it was insane how popular she was across wide demographic. With Taylor it’s impressive that her fans mass buy her albums even tho they can listen for free. I’m sure if a male artist sold many versions they would talk about how impressive it was that they inspired such a collector spirit in their fans that they wanted each version.
