Let me give you a comprehensive count of every time Republicans, including Trump, have publicly promised to roll out a health care plan over the past 10 years, from 2015 to 2025. Throughout this period, they’ve made countless promises, campaign pledges, and announcements. Trump and Republicans repeatedly vowed to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act AKA Obamacare with a “better” plan. In 2017, Republicans in Congress, first aligned with Trump, proposed the American Health Care Act as a replacement for the ACA, but nothing happened. Trump also unveiled or referred to an “America First Healthcare Plan” as his administration’s vision, but again, nothing happened. Trump personally made repeated public promises of a “replacement” health plan in at least several distinct years. In 2015, 2016, 2020, and 2024, often saying one was “just two weeks away.” The Republican Party as a whole campaigned for ACA repeal and replacement multiple times in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, but failed in every single effort. Now, in October 2025, the truth is clear: many of these promises were lies, and attempted cancelations of the ACA that failed. But now it’s 2025, and the truth is clear for all to see. The Republicans have never cared about our healthcare, and have always focus toward cutting Medicaid, rolling back ACA subsidies, and limiting coverage rather than introducing any new, comprehensive health care plan, and it shows they never cared about our healthcare or us.
