I'm going to share an important tip I’ve learned in my nearly 30 years of playing drums professionally: never tune your toms to the same frequency or close to the resonant head frequency of your snare. Try tuning the resonant head of your first tom about 10% higher than the batter head. Aim for 210Hz (top G#3) and 225Hz (bottom A#3)—this will give you control over the harmonics. Cheers 🥁🎶🥁🎶
