@pinkprincesslove111: The Great Gatsby He gave her everything his heart, his dreams, his world but she never saw his worth, never valued the love that could have been hers.#tiktok #Love #viral #men #menshealth
Gatsby is the embodiment of Limerence. He was in love with a memory, not a person.

Gatsby didn't love Daisy. He loved the idea of her and what she represented. "I got all those things for her..." THAT line speak so loud about his perception of what "loving" someone means. If you share his views about love, then you know nothing about it. 🎀

He chased a dream not a woman if you really think about it, he loved the idea of her, the image he built inside his head.

Like spider man said “ you can’t repeat the past” he was stuck there and he wanted to make it work that it literally killed him. Move on people! This movie shows you to MOVE ON.

De La Roche :
I feel like after all this time yearning for her, once he finally has her, he’ll get bored and eventually abandon her. So honestly, it’s kind of delusional if you think about it 😭

Gatsby loved the idea of Daisy, not Daisy herself.

The ending had me how he sacrificed himself and then she carelessly moved on with her life didn’t even visited him last time.

Daughter of Christ :
This is a very good example of an anxious attachment/limerence love, which isn’t love. Love isn’t chasing someone so you can change them into the version you created in your head about them. Love is not doing things for others to manipulate them to get the thing you desire from them, like reciprocal love. Love isn’t forcing someone to understand, appreciate you, or love you back. Real love is unselfish, sacrificial, patient, and kind. Sometimes when you really love someone, you let them go because you realize that’s what they want and would make them happy. Real love is wanting the other to be happy, even if you’re not.

Maturing is realising that this movie is completely open to perceptions of the audience, there’s no right answer to the meaning behind the film it’s just one of those movies where the director made it so that there’s different opinions there’s different perceptions on what love is and what it isn’t based on what the audience believes it to be and that’s what’s brilliant about this director! I’m going to say it again there is absolutely no right or wrong answer

It’s not about the material things. It’s about the time spent together that matters

This women also had a daughter and a life he had to think about it wasn’t just that simple. This movie proves that life keeps moving and reading a book twice will not change the ending she was doomed if she did and doomed she didn’t

SOMEONE COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT OF THEIR DYNAMIC. That’s why I hated reading this in class because even as an adult I fully understood, but everyone else only grasped what was presented by the unreliable narrator. This man made every selfish decision for himself and slapped “FOR DAISY” on it. He never grew out of the insecure young man he was when he met her. He stayed trapped in his 19-20 mentality and made himself a home in the longing.
