Pap smear just feels kind of like a dull scratch. IUD insertion and colposcopy? Legit the worst pain I have ever experienced. Felt like being stabbed and punched at the same time. Slowly.

a pap smear feels exactly the same as though someone was scraping a swab across my eyeball. I can feel when I am passing clots, and can even tell how big they're gonna be.

i am heavily tattooed and have slept through those tattoos. Pap smears and the like are SUPER painful

I had cervical cancer and had 4 leep procedures where they pull the cervix down and burn the bad cells away. Trust me it hurts like hell !!

Pap smears are uncomfortable for me, but not painful. LEEP procedure and IUD insertion were horrific. So yes, it absolutely feels pain.

it's strange. I can feel everything in my body and pinpoint which organ is hurting (I am chronically ill) it doesnt hurt like a cut or tooth ache hurts, it hurts very "internally" it's hard to explain. like someone took a melon ball spoon to the cervix

a colposcopy was shockingly painful. I knew it would be rough bc paps hurt. I was told I would feel nothing and assumed it would be "manageable". i was biting down on my own hand to stifle cries of agony and holding the edges of the bed bc my body was fighting the instinct to kick the dude melon-balling my "no feeling" cervix.

Let’s talk about the cervix and abortion. When they insert an expander to dilate the cervix, that was most excruciating pain akin to child birth.

I had a cervical biopsy when I was 19, the doctor told me to take 4 Tylenol before I came to help with cramping because the "cervix has no feeling". I nearly passed out from the pain. I had a hysterosalpingogram 2 years ago. I was told the same thing, explained my experience with pain before and was told AGAIN "the cervix has no feeling". Cried the whole procedure and was shaking from the pain. 👍🏻 thanks medical studies ☠

I needed a cervical biopsy. The "pinch" sent me into 10/10 period cramps. My answer is yes.

I think theres a skill component for pap smears. My usual gyno does them and I dont feel a thing. Then I've had a couple of other gynos where not only did it hurt, I bled for two days.

I can say with 100% certainty that,YES, it f*cking hurts. My IUD removal was post surgery & I cramped so hard I came off the table. I then threw up & almost passed out. The cervix hurts to be pinched, the process is uncomfortable, & the cramping it triggers is excruciating. All around bad time.

when I got my IUD I didn't really notice the dilation of the cervix, but I did feel when they took my measurements. it was a sharp fast pain, but then my uterus contracted and that pain took over the rest

Hello from one of the cervical O crowd 🤗 those are AWESOME esp compared to clitoral O for me, petite mort indeed. Flip side though, Pap smears feel like 💀💀

no pain - when I got an IUD, there was a problem somewhere between aligning the cervix with the clamp thing and actual insertion, causing the MA to run real quick to get a different IUD pack. I was clamped for a couple of minutes. could've been lucky placement, could be personal anatomy. I still firmly believe all cervix-related Healthcare should get pain management.

I fired a female obgyn for lying after she said the pap smear doesn't hurt. I kinda feel bad now. Maybe she's the type who can't feel it.

I have sensation but less so than others. Pap smears are nothing but getting my IUD was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever had. When he used the tenaculum I nearly passed out from the pain.

pap smears are uncomfortable. I've had a cervical biopsy and it felt like they were ripping out my whole uterus (no anesthesia).

when I got my IUD inserted, my gyno said "OH she's angry". she was talking about my cervix. worst pain of my life. same experience when I had a foley balloon induction.
