@mrcodydahler: Did someone order another a round of economic growth? Well you’re buying! Will Keir Starmer’s new proposal to allow pubs to stay open later really tap into the nations problem drinking and drag us out of mediocrity? We’ll certainly give it a good go! #ukpolitics #pubs #drinking #comedy #satire

Could the landlords afford to pay the extra this will cost them? - Extra utilities and wages etc. I’m also unsure if encouraging longer drinking is the right idea? - Maybe lower taxes on beer and reduce cost and have people buy more in the same period would be more beneficial. It’ll increase revenue to pubs without increasing expenses…

One of your best!!👏🏼

Jujudrop 🫖 :

Can’t have a refill of coke or hot chocolate but you can sit in the bar all night! 😭😂

boo28080 :

Most people can't afford to drink in pubs until closing time as it is & extra wages etc on top. It's not going to help pubs

Em :

Paint_Pot_Pete :

Bring back 2008 prices and I'll save the national economy myself 🤣

Titch Streams™️ :

Could do with dropping some tax on the price of pints at the same time!! No good the pub being open longer if it’s empty

kamilantus :

"This is exactly what the country needed, thinking outside of the box'ed wine..." 👌🏼

jomo0610 :

pubs are open long enough just noone can afford them anymore🤣

The taskforce 💀 😂😭

Luar Ivoran :

I saw a place in Bristol advertising £5 pints as if it's a good thing. I remember nights out when it was £1 shots and £2 for a bottle of peroni.

Frank Berridge :

pubs will just be open for longer problem is you can't afford to drink in them now.

🏳️‍🌈H 🇬🇧Hattie🌻or Hats🎩 :

I don’t think alcohol was the issue in those clips, more like Special K

Hannah 💚 :

If there were rent controls, perhaps people could afford to go to the pub

You know the Egyptians Pharos gave their slaves bread and alcohol mixed as a drink for free. They couldn’t have their populations think for themselves in their off hours. Just saying.

🌻 :

Except alcohol is ruining our NHS, filling our prisons, and hurting families.

Suz :

I’m I hallucinating or did he not try to shorten pub opening hours when he got into office??

EeeZeey :

You know there’s plans to keep pubs open longer but ALSO LOWER THE THRESHOLD OF THE ALCOHOL IN THE BLOOD AND BREATH TO EU NUMBERS 👍🏻 I’m sure there’s not a link 🧐

Lower the prices of alchole as well and people will use them. 😏

Pub?

Hazey Lake :

weve been trying to get pubs to stay open to 6am for years but it's so hard to get bar staff now it's never gonna work. however having some stuff stay open 24hrs could generate more jobs
