@jimvenetosgolfacademy: Hey dad. I’ve sent you the money. I know how difficult it is that you’re unable to provide for yourself and mom at the moment, but I am not your provider, God is. You really need to properly plug in to church and seek help from the church family. Yes, we are family, but we’ve already discussed this and, again, it’s really not healthy for you or me for me to be doing this. I can’t live my whole life under heavy guilt that God has favoured me financially. Any comments about how “buying (something) for mom would really bless her” doesn’t help (like the workout plan I shared). I feel like I can’t be generous because it will spiral into me constantly feeling guilty. I want to give mom gifts but I’m terrified that it opens the doors of you constantly guilt tripping me for more. I’m scared to bless you or mom. The way you asked for a loan and then say “messaged received, moving on” is manipulation. And that only exists to make me feel guilty and this takes a huge knock on me mentally. I need to draw a line in the sand with this, especially before I get married. I understand you provided for me as a child and teenager and I am so grateful for that, thank you. But I supported the family throughout most of my young adult life and I really need to move on from that. I am a man trying to start and provide for my own family, I don’t want to feel like I have to provide for yours as well. I really love you but please seek help from the church in this time. I know it’s difficult but I can’t be that for you.
