I guess people don’t know how to properly use the strainer. You put it down in your pot and tip it over that way the food stays in the pot and the water comes out through the strainer.

The bottom of that strainer gets just as close to the bottom of the sink as the other one

No, I precariously balance it on all the dirty dishes that are previously there, and as I strain the hot water and strain the noodles, I pick it up and try and hit some of the dishes in the sink they could use a little hot water rinse. lol

yes I 💯do put the colander in the sink. they have a base on them so nothing noodles are actually touching the sink. all you have to do is bump that thing funny and everything ends up in the sink anyway.

so you put ready to eat food in the colander just 2 inches higher above the drain with this? makes sense

“Safe to 176°”….meanwhile simmering water is 185° and boiling water is 212°. So am I supposed to let my pasta cool a little before I strain it? 🤔

🤔 um my sink is clean. the distance between the sieve/colander is of no relevance! 🤔 the correct question. would be " Why. does one need more distance between a clean sink or a dirty sink!

I have that white strainer bowl and it works just fine! Also, you don’t have to put it in your sink! You can put it in the pan and turn the pan upside down and it drains like that!
