Best dynamic in the series for me. Chuck is a huge part of why jimmy ends up as Saul. Chuck never believed jimmy could change, so he never gave jimmy a chance to change. Jimmy is shown to make a genuine attempt at the straight path but it only lead to him being rejected and treated as nothing more than slippin jimmy, so he embraced it because as slippin jimmy he was rewarded for his efforts, which in turn only reinforced chuck’s idea that he can’t change. But who knows how would end if he wasn’t rejected despite trying the straight path

I love Michael Mckean’s acting in this scene, when Jimmy starts talking, Chuck looks like he’s listening to an apology, he was expecting Jimmy to show some compassion or tell him that he’ll always be there for him, but when Jimmy ends with the most spiteful thing possible Chuck realises just how much he’s made Jimmy hate him
