let me explain, he holds the tape at an angle to the 14 inch mark, and marks every 2 inches. actual measurement doesnt matter here, he simply divides the board into 14 and marks every 2 inches effectively giving him 7 pieces

The tape is at an angle out to 14 which is divided by 7. it's not actually 2 inches since it's at an angle. This is correct

another way is to do the same diagonal with the tape but for 7 I would go to 35 on the tape and mark out all your 5s 35 30 25 20 ect...do that twice and connect your dots with your chalkbox. boom and you can do that with any number for division
