this trail damn near took me OUT. it’s gorgeous but it is NOT for the faint of heart. leconte via alum cave is much easier, imo.

Greenbrier is full of beautiful hikes. this one is my favorite there. Just for fun I counted stairs, not individually, but sets. There are 70 sets of wooden steps, and 25 sets made of rocks. Fern branch falls is on the Porters Creek side and it is also beautiful. If you get a chance, hike Kephart Prong just above Smokemont. It's another must see!
