@mark_milligan_: LEV YASHIN, considered by many to be the greatest goalkeeper in history, played his entire career with Dynamo Moscow (1950–1970). He made around 400 official appearances for the club, in addition to his international appearances. He won five Soviet Union League titles (1954, 1955, 1957, 1959, 1963) and three USSR Cups (1953, 1967, 1970). He played 78 matches for the Soviet Union national team, winning gold at the 1956 Olympic Games and the 1960 European Championship, and finishing runner-up at Euro 1964. He was the only goalkeeper in history to win the Ballon d'Or (1963). He participated in four World Cups (1958, 1962, 1966, and 1970) and finished fourth at England 1966. He saved more than 150 penalties in his career, a record that still stands. He kept more than 270 clean sheets. He is considered the best goalkeeper of the 20th century by the IFFHS and was chosen as one of the Ballon d'Or All-Time XI and the FIFA Dream Team. He also received the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labour for his contributions to Soviet sport. Nicknamed the "Black Spider" for his dark uniform and cat-like reflexes, he is considered the most influential and revolutionary goalkeeper of all time.
