I saw someone say, "if they weren't able to tell anyone that they had climbed it, would they still do it"? That resonated with me because, of course they wouldn't! It's all about ego while putting the Sherpas and animals at risk.

It is not even that iconic anymore! So many people being shepherded (Sherpas do the real graft) just doesn't feel so special anymore. It has turned into a pilgrimage!

This Mountain is sacred mountain they call "Sagarmatha," meaning "Goddess of the Sky". The mountain is deeply respected and revered by many, particularly the Sherpa people who consider it a sacred home. YET WE SH*T on it the government will take your money as it’s a poor country. So they’ll just say ok no worries

7269 people have climbed Everest (as of December 2024). Only 330 people have died. That equates to a 95.5% survival rate. So, the odds are in your favour. Sadly, however, if these people do get stuck - it’s kind of self-inflicted.

I saw a vlog a dude made during his climb. He basically saw only 2 bodies in the entire trip. What you see on social media are diferent clips taken in different years making you think you would pass by dozens of bodies. But is not true

The level of disconnect from humanity is unreal. When stills are used merely as reference points and then stepped over as the journey continues, it becomes a clear demonstration of that disconnection. Why? Because they can afford it 🤷♀
