Listen, I hear your passion, and its because you care, its evident, but you don't get to tell people that they don't get to say no. I get it, but YOU need to understand that people have a right to thier decisions, poor decisions or otherwise and the outcome of thier decisions are thiers too. I hear you, but no.

Mammograms are not common, and even banned in other countries. And a patient is never obligated to just do what a doctor tells them. Potential concern patients should ask 1M questions and challenge the system before making a final decision.

I'm sorry, when they tell me to come in for a follow-up mammogram & ultrasound, but absolutely refuse to tell me how much I will be expected to pay at the time of service, that follow-up isn't getting scheduled.

if the biopsy wasn't almost 2 grand out of pocket with insurance,I wouldn't have said no 2x. after the third ultrasound the doc said 80%chance I would need a extraction of the weird formation.. to only find out it was nothing after paying almost 3 grand now for all ultrasound mamos office visits and everything... just saying 3 grand is a lot of money....and you can't make payments you have to pay at least 50 % up front.

Fortunately my doctor believes it is my body, my choice. I turned down the mammogram, I am not high risk. Don't worry many of us will never come in.

found a lump 2015 but ultrasound said there was nothing there fast foward 2021 lump still there but no bigger had a stat bilateral mammogram with ultrasound surgery was the same year was just a big cyst do i like to get my melons squished no but its necessary every 6 months bilateral ultrasound and yearly mammogram 😩

How about fixing the issue where the additional imaging is on affordable, because my insurance will not cover a diagnostic mammogram. And I don’t have $2200 laying around.

I think this is a natural repercussion of folks finally advocating for themselves in a medical setting. We’ll figure out where the line is eventually, but I’m not about telling folks not to stand up for themselves. For so long people have been told to just not in smile unlock the doctor do whatever the want even if you don’t want it to happen. People are finally learning that they can say no in a medical setting.

The biopsy was incredibly painful. I was told I’d be comfortable. I feel no pain. I felt freaking everything. And are these clips even safe? Do they move? I didn’t have cancer, but I had benign cysts and I chose to leave them in.

You know what? I think mammograms are important but I dont believe the hospitals anymore. 5 years, FIVE YEARS, of follow ups when I KNEW I was fine resulted in me paying THOUSANDS of dollars. Guess when it happened???? Just guess.

My DIL insisted on starting mammograms at 39. Her doctor said she didn’t need to, but DIL insisted. At 41 they found an aggressive form of cancer very early. She decided on a double mastectomy without reconstruction. Three years out she is cancer free.

My Sister’s mamagram didn’t find hers and she did. My Aunt (an RN) found hers the first time. When it came back it was all through her body
