Thats not why young people aren’t going to the doctor. We’re poor, have no health insurance, and therefore most of the time cannot afford a standard colonoscopy let alone the procedure to remove pollops if they were found

38 had blood in my stools for over a year and progressively got worse. Went to doctor and was told I was too young for cancer and that it was hemorrhoids. Finally got a second opinion and had a colonoscopy and found out I have stage 3b colon cancer

This is probably because the new generation is hyperfocusing on high protein diets ( especially animal protein ) and ignoring fibers from plant proteins ( legumes)

yup I am 29 and just had a mri and colonoscopy and they found potential cancerous polyps. I am waiting for the results but will find out next week hopefully.

Why doesn’t the Gastroenterology Medical Society consider lowering the recommended age for colonoscopy screening from 45 to 30? Studies have already shown a significant rise in bowel cancer cases among young adults today. By lowering the age threshold, patients wouldn’t have to struggle to convince their doctors to perform a colonoscopy. Many late-stage cancer cases occur because symptoms were misdiagnosed or patients’ concerns were not taken seriously early on.

My cousin was 27 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She told her doctor about her symptoms- and all he did was try to prescribe her birth control. TRUST YOUR GUT. She passed last year.

Had pain and lethargy for months, after being sent for IBS and other tests, a colonoscopy found stage 2 colorectal cancer right after I turned 40. After chemo, radiation, an LAR surgery, and now ileostomy reversal, I’m now cancer free and in monitoring. It was a rough road.
