I love teaching middle school because they’re little weirdos figuring out life while I’m figuring out adulting. Too old for boogers (usually) but they’re not worried about college applications yet. Silly and fun and still very impressionable.

I taught seniors and super seniors at an alternative school and for some reason people always guessed I taught elementary??? I absolutely do not have elementary teacher vibes. I could never figure it out.

Anytime I tell someone I teach middle school they look at me like I’m crazy… Little kids and their sticky gross hands and their constant need to touch no thanks. My middle schoolers are annoying but they’re “mostly” self sufficient 🤣

8th middle school teacher here 20 year veteran. I can PROMISE you that we DO NOT have the energy you think we bring. We pretty much roast, match energy, and side eye our children reminding them to not wake the demons that sleep within us. We also drink coffee that’s as dark as our souls.

wait cause i’m currently a junior in college and now want to look into teaching…and my college has a secondary education minor! the only problem is that it would push my graduation back a FULL year 😭 do you recommend going through my college’s teaching program or the alternative certification program???
