@c5news: This is what some people in Aberdeen had to say about the Scottish First Minister, John Swinney. Tomorrow is the Scottish National Party's annual conference, but Swinney remains unbothered by his likeability - telling @ajontvhis focus is on the work to be done. #SNP #JohnSwinney
Scotlands crime rate is the worst it’s ever been because the police are almost non existent for any serious crimes,However they have massive numbers of police on demand for someone who might of offended someone online

John Swinney’s appointment as SNP leader in May 2024 was supposed to be temporary. By his own admission, he only stepped in to provide short-term stability after Humza Yousaf’s resignation — not to lead the party long-term.
Yet, instead of building toward genuine renewal, the SNP sidelined Kate Forbes, who was widely recognised as the strongest candidate and the one person capable of uniting both the party and the country after the turmoil of Yousaf’s leadership.
Now, while the SNP promotes mentorship schemes to “support women in politics,” they’ve effectively thrown Forbes under the bus — a woman who had already proven her leadership potential and popular appeal.
The result? Swinney’s continuation has opened the door to Reform UK, a party that until now had no real foothold in Scotland. The SNP’s failure to seize the moment for change risks fracturing its base and handing its opponents the very momentum it once owned.
