100%. I think your instincts are accurate on this. If it made sense to build another oil pipeline, someone in the oil industry would be willing to invest in it.

I do not believe the Angus Reid poll that said 59% of Canadians support a Northern Alberta to BC pipeline. I get Angus Reid polls and I was never asked.

No disrespect, But what would be the benefit to paying that kind of money for a pipeline to carry salt water to Alberta's oil country? This seems very far fetched and is counter productive to any real arguments against the pipeline.

Another thing to think about was the wild fires by pelican narrows sk. Many were on their tramlines a d witness drones starting fires. September 2025 they announced copper mining, starting soon

I don’t think it’s about oil, the trans mountain isn’t at capacity and not expected to be until 2028 they are still trying to ramp up. But also because of the market and not wanting to pay high tolls so what exactly do they think a new pipeline is going to do

There was also a news article that went out where they interviewed various different companies that would be the potential contract holders to do the pipeline. And they all said no thanks. The duration of the project, the investment required and the return is not worth it.
They said they would rather do short projects in the United States. Less investment up front, would take less time and the return would be more profitable.

So here’s a question: why can’t salt water be used for cooling these mega data centers? Build them on the coast and use salt water. Why does it have to be fresh water?
