Ask why so many one term presidents dominated the mid 1800s. If they didn’t ban slavery, they were voted out. Soooo many people wanted to get rid of it. Until we had to finally fight a war to stop it.

Yall i think this so reflective of my mental state when i was the age i learned these things. Like duh I know what the civil war was I suppose I would’ve pinpointed 1800s if you asked me to really think about it but fr my brain was not wrapping around that. Thanks for sharing I have things to research now :)

You blocked out the War of 1812 because it’s not taught about much due to a number of reasons but mostly because it was a complicated conflict that started for many reasons but also because we didn’t explicitly “win” the war
