@dannya571: Nino Rota was born on December 3, 1911, in Milan, Italy, and was 67 years old when he died on April 10, 1979, in Rome, Italy. He was a prolific Italian composer best known for his film scores — not only for The Godfather trilogy, but also for many classic films by Federico Fellini, such as La Dolce Vita and 8½. Rota’s haunting main theme — often called “The Godfather Waltz” — became one of the most recognizable film scores in cinema history. It perfectly captured the film’s mix of family loyalty, tragedy, and crime. Fun fact: Although Rota was initially disqualified from the 1973 Academy Awards because part of the score reused a theme from an earlier film, he later won the Oscar for The Godfather Part II in 1975.
