@forestblakk: From the very beginning, I felt If You Love Her needed another voice. And every time that thought crossed my mind, @christina perri was the first person I thought of. Her voice and her stories felt woven into the fabric of my song, as if they were meant to be connected. Through a series of synchronistic happenings, that thought turned into a reality. Suddenly, I was on the phone with Christina Perri, and it still feels crazy saying that. We weren’t talking about charts or releases, but about love, life, heartbreak, and the kind of songs that grow out of those fragile places. She said something I will never forget: “It is so cool that we get to take a feeling of pain and heartbreak, and instead of writing a song filled with animosity, we can honor the love that was once there.” She was so right. And that sentence has been part of my world ever since.
