Thank you!!! Teaching my daughter to hold firm to her boundaries with everyone, INCLUDING her parents, absolutely anyone, saved her when I was not there to protect her.

I explained this to my family before I gave birth. My baby girl will not be forced to hug or kiss anyone.. heck, if she doesn’t want me to hug or kiss her I won’t either. Her boundaries matter!

I don’t play no games about my baby .. strangers and friends of parents you better come up with a hand shake my daughter will not be accustomed to hugging ppl or allowing ppl in her space.. go bond with someone else’s baby

i love this. i always taught my kids they dont have to do anything they dont want to even with family. my fam made comments about how f’d up i was. they havent seen my children since. BOUNDARIES. no means no!

I agree! I always tell people my toddler isn’t friendly, especially towards adults. I never make him feel bad about it, I actually love that he sets boundaries!

In my mexican family we grew up hugging and kissing everyone and I refuse to do that with my son. My parents are actually really relaxed about it but I’ve had other people tell me my kid was rude.

I don’t even care if it’s my child or not. If my niece or nephew doesn’t want to hug me I’ll tell their parents “He/she said no. I’m not pushing their boundaries.”

100%! I don’t do any of this but it wasn’t because of that lol I just wasn’t about to have my son doing shit he didn’t want to do. Even with me. Good to know though, cause I was raised this way and struggled with boundaries .

I ASK my son for a hug & kiss and if he doesn’t want to, I acknowledge that and tell him he doesn’t have to. I tell him I love him. When he DOES give me a hug or kiss, I tell him I love him. It’s his choice. Again… I’m his birth mother lol it starts at home 🥰🥰

My kids know they can say No to anyone. I don’t care who they are, ill take care of it after. Even at school, if they’re told to do something outside of regular work, that gives a uncomfy feeling, you say No, & call me & We don’t leave with anyone alone, anywhere no matter if you know them, unless you hear directly from me! Teacher, neighbor ect. Unless its a lockdown. You say No and call me.
