I have the 2025 Toyota 4Runner that I got last week. There’s no subscription for CarPlay or Android Auto. Fluid levels are visible free as well. The only subscription is for Toyota’s version of Onstar.

Farm equipment has similar issues. You have million dollar harvester that locks you out of features unless you pay extra. However theres underground hackers that sell jail broken software to get around those paywalls.
