Germany bombed UK in 1939 these were small raids on naval ports and UKs industry UK responded with their own small raids on Germany’s naval ports and industry. In 1940 during the Blitz Hitler sent hundreds of bombers to bomb UK and London was bombed heavy for months this was part of Hitler plan to force Britain to submission and British refused to surrender. Britain didn’t respond straight away because they didn’t have enough bombers so they ramped up their aircraft production and responded in 1943 Britain bombed Germany twice as hard from 1943 to 1945. The city destroyed most during WW2 was Frankfurt which was completely annihilated by the British. 😁
