@flora.funga.mia: The dingle berries are ripe!! Called them that by mistake once, true story. Obvs taking the P in the video, just to clarify they are Elder berries!!! >>>> 🫐Elder (Sambucus nigra) has compound leaves with 5-7 leaflets and a serration to the leaflet edge. Often with large, dense clusters of berries. Should be cooked before consumption. 🫐Common Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea) has simple leaves with a smooth leaf edge and neat curved veins. Berries considered non-edible and can cause gastric upset. 🫐Wayfaring tree (Viburnum lantana) has oval, wrinkly-looking leaves also with serrated edges. The undersides have soft hairs. Berries are considered poisonous to humans and cause vomiting if eaten. 🫐Purging buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) has oval, finely toothed leaves with neat curved veins. Berries are considered non-edible and could irritate skin. They do however have a known history of use in herbal medicine as a laxative, hence the name ‘purging’. Happy foraging, be cautious & stay safe yalll x #foraging #elderberry #elderberrysyrup #wildfood #forager
