I’m a locksmith, please use those machines, it’s a hassle for me to make a bunch of keys for a couple dollars, I’d rather have higher value jobs.

sure there may be some issues with these but you know what they don't do? complain when the key you have says "Do Not Copy" on it. you know what they don't do? take 30 minutes to come from a different aisle to copy one key. they also aren't old and can't read the key tags to find the right copy.

Lowes person here 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️we still exist and will happily cut keys and our keys are wayy cheaper than that machine! 😁

The machine asks for your email because they save the scan of your key in case you need another copy (like you lost your keys or something)

Technology replacing jobs....first it was the self check out lines, now this. Publix even has a kiosk to renew your auto tags, which is very convenient but still.

It also saves ur key scan if u create an account so u can create a new one anytime if you lose ur keys.
