I had a second interview with the VP of the company. And was asking me questions that weren't aligned with the position. Ultimately they decided to not hire anyone for this position and are taking another route. What can I say to the employer next time this happens?

Man, I didn’t even recognize you without the hat!! lol on another note, I stood at the end of an interview after passing out a one pager. It was apart of my delivery and I nailed it. I got the offer.

Don't stand. Always be at the same level/eye level. The judge in court is always higher, because it's a dominance thing. Same applies with an interview.

Chief Human Resources Officer. I would advise him to sit no matter what. He risk not being hired if he has a medical condition. And yes it is illegal to not hire someone for medical reasons. But let's be honest, it happens. Sit down and get through the interview. I see someone standing in an interview I am going to be like "hum".
