I’ve been debating between EM and trauma surg for like the past two years and it’s stressing meee the f out, at first i was all in trauma surg but damn the GS residency in my country suckkks even GS consultants are telling students/ interns not to go for GS and one of them is the person who inspired me to wanna be a trauma surgeon so seeing the person who inspired u to do something telling not to do it is tough. And I’m thinking about EM but not sure. It’s just confusing to me to the extent were i just don’t want to apply for nothing

Any advice on how to set boundaries so that a surgeon’s career serves their marriage/family rather than marriage/family serving the career?
