@brittany.inge: Self-tape to Screen | “Reasonable Doubt” I love to look back at the way a scene inevitably evolves from the audition to the performance. What’s most notable to me in this “edition” of Self-tape to Screen is the contrast in temperature between the KENDRA I taped and the KENDRA we ultimately put on film. The audition sides described her as: “not fucking around”. I knew that description could present a trap of playing only anger. So, I decided to put all her fury & frustration under the surface. I put it in the looks she gives Bill when she’s not speaking. I thought that her being firm and resolute (and a little bit petty) would be a more interesting choice than anger. I decided that her hurt would show up in shades of defeat and exhaustion, as opposed to rage. I made that choice and I committed to it. That’s all we can ever do, right? 🤷🏾♀️ Well then— I booked it! ✨🙏🏾 When I got on set, @antoncropper asked me to turn it up a few notches, while still holding onto the hurt and exhaustion nuances. I was happy to oblige!!! And just like that— we got the KENDRA you all saw in last week’s episode. Don’t ya just love collaborative storytelling?! I sho’ nuff do.☺️💯🎬 If you haven’t caught up on THIS week’s episode (written by my girl, @mslawebb)–what are you even waiting for?!?! What are you doing with your life?!?! Run (don’t walk) to Hulu!! RIGHT NOW!! ✨📺 #ReasonableDoubtHulu 🔥🔥🔥
