I had light therapy up at rah and was there 3 times a week. appt is so quick I did suffer burning from such a short time in machine. it helped but never totally cleared it. ended up on medication for my psoriasis which helped but side effects were bad. now on new meds and psoriasis is 95% away. good luck with treatment x

My partner has bad eczema, he had it as a baby and then it came back in full force when he was 16. He got referred for light therapy when he was 19 and even tho it helped, the hospital just discharged him a few months later. It wasn’t a long term fix, his eczema got worse again & they said you’re discharged just go for sunbeds 🙄 obv they’re extremely dangerous so he doesn’t do that. The only thing that helps is when he’s on holiday in the sun it clears it up & the Australian QV creams & steroid creams help at home but he’s constantly struggling every day in pain. He’s had better advice & care going for private consultations than he ever had on the NHS but he’s still no further forward with a cure, he just lives in pain daily. If I could take the pain away from him I would.

I'm at the end of my X3 week light therapy. its definitely helped wonders however not completely clear. Some wee patches in small areas but manageable and not angry red etc. Stopped treatment for a week though as on holiday and think I can see it coming bk slightly so not sure how long the effects will last for. Hope you find some relief 🥰

I have had the patch testing done twice and been told I have no allergies. Still struggle with eczema and now chronic idiopathic urticaria. I’m seeing a dermatologist and on a mix of tablets to try and keep it under control. My sister had light therapy and it really helped her!!! Happy to private message more about it. Hope you see results, it might take time xxx

I’ve had light therapy (at Crosshouse as well) and it worked wonders for me. You do need to trust the process, I think I was over halfway through before I saw an improvement but 100% worth doing. I still struggle with my face but my body eczema has stayed clear since the light therapy which was in 2023 x

So being intolerant to, and allergic are different. Allergies will show on the skin prick but anything you’re intolerant to won’t, and a build up of anything you’re intolerant to can flare up eczema unfortunately 😢 x

I have atopic eczema and also got an allergy test done to find out I didn’t have any allergies, then put me on light therapy and it done wonders for my skin!! I haven’t touched a steroid cream in nearly a year and had no breakouts whatsoever, I’ve had red patches in the usual places like arms but goes away so quick!

This is exactly what happened to me. I’ve had eczema since a baby, bandages and all the rest. Went for the patch testing was allergic to nothing but then had my blood tested and I’m allergic to dust, grass and birch pollen.. but more so inhaling dust. This was about 6 years ago and my face breaks out now a couple times a year but it’s manageable. I now get hives on my arms from time to time but they don’t know why. Hope you get some answers as no one understands how sore and emotionally draining it is for this to be on your face 🤍

I’ve had light therapy treatment, was great for my skin during the treatment, I did get burned a few times and had to have my timings reduced a few times. Unfortunately when I stopped the light therapy my skin just started flaring again😩 Now on methotrexate. It’s so hard, suffered my full life but last 3 years have been nothing short of horrific 😩
