A first look at farming gameplay in Loftia!! Comment what vegetables, fruits and plants you would like to grow in the game! 🌾🥕 When we started developing Loftia, hydroponic farming was envisioned as the main method of solarpunk farming. But traditional dirt farming was always part of the plan, as there’s just something so relaxing and satisfying about seeing your soil plots bloom with colorful crops and being able to harvest them! 🍅🥝 We’ve been spending lots of time researching how farming works in many other cozy games - with Stardew Valley, Fae Farm and Minecraft being some of our sources of inspiration. Over the past few months we’ve been hard at work remodelling all our 3D crops and implementing our soil farming system - where you can choose between wooden plots of all different shapes and sizes for your farming needs. Water is a scarce resource in our world of floating islands though, which is why crafting a rain collector bot is essential to ensure there’s enough water to sustain your crops. Over time, you’ll be able to craft drip irrigators, which conserve water and keep your crops hydrated longer. 🌧️ There’s much more to farming that we’re working on - including a progression into advanced methods such as hydroponic and aquaponic farming 👀🐟 And since Loftia is a cozy MMO game after all, we’re also exploring multiplayer farming. Additionally we’re focused on perfecting the little details that’ll make farming feel fun - like animations, visual effects, sound effects, and more! ✨ In the meantime, let us know what crops you’re looking forward to growing, and what other farming features we should keep in mind as we continue to develop the game.
