I always paste copied links into a web browser, then refresh the page. It’ll give the regular link every time, and that’s what I send to other people

Thats not always the case. Yes, it can and is used this way, but also, when you share a youtube video that starts off some specific time a query parameter is used to mark the start time.

Instead of copy link, scroll all the way to the end of that line to “more” tap that, that opens up your phones share options (instead of TikTok). Tap copy. Now it’s clean without having to erase.

you can do that but it’s not really “tracking” the way people might think. it’s just a UTM code for advertising to track performance (number of hits, source, etc) not personal data. so really you’d just be skewing performance data for some entry level marketing coordinator lol.
