I was doing fundraising for my kids' school band. We were having an auction and went to make large chain restaurants and markets (like Wholefoods) They have limits of how much they will donate each quarter. They say no all the time, it is normal practice. They cannot tell everyone yes. I commend you for standing up for yourself and doing what is best for your business. Anyone that acts like you own them something is just being selfish and wrong.

Larger corporations, like Safeway for instance, only donate once or twice a year, only to 501c3 organizations, and only $50 each time. I would suggest setting a limit of both the dollar amount and the times you donate per year… keep a log to keep track. This is your family business, you’ve worked hard for it, stand up for yourself and your family. 💗

You are a small business owner and it sounds like you donate more than most do. Living and doing business in Southern California is SO expensive and your prices are completely reasonable in light of that. There are people who will always be negative and not use critical thinking skills to understand all of the aspects and you have to ignore them. After this beautiful video, there will still be those who don’t listen & criticize. You are amazing and ignore them!
