Yeah I’m a parent, it’s on me to get the days off I want to spend with my kid. That’s why I put in all my pto in when it refreshes them I’m set for the next year.

If it’s a good company, some will split the difference between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That means if you choose Thanksgiving, you work on Christmas and if you choose Christmas, you work on Thanksgiving. So if that mom has Christmas off then that’s why she’s working Thanksgiving. Don’t expect somebody to switch shifts and still expecting the work on Christmas because that is terrible. No one wants to work on holidays.

I have been on both ends. I used to have to work holidays and weekends because i didn’t have kids. I still work holidays and i have kids some i volunteer cause its time and a half. Just because the don’t have kids doesnt mean they don’t have family!!

I have a job that requires someone to be working on holidays ... as a single person - generally been nice to work Christmas so those with kids can have the day .... but the time I couldn't cause I was in the hos5- apparently there was a lot of fighting on who should give up their day to cover

No words… my mom worked thanksgiving to be home with us on Xmas. There was only one year we did our xmas on Christmas Eve because she had to work Christmas Day.

I went through the same thing a few years ago, and I will be honest and harsh if she was stupid enough to have fun without protection and get pregnant then she needs to suffer the consequences and work through holidays to support her family. It is not the other woman’s job two step aside for her She could’ve made arrangements sooner the fact that she didn’t is on her.
