I literally planned the whole birthday, got the cake, and was stuffing party favor bags when my mother came to me with a bunch of stuff to make party favor bags and offered to make a cake. Didn’t help with set up like she said she would, didn’t help with cleanup like she offered, but did have a good time and told me the store bought cake was good so it was a win 😂

I have had 5 kids and have planned way to many bday parties over these last 30 years. I look forward to grandkid parties and just showing up with the expected gift of their dreams or the gift to accessorize the gift of their dreams that mom and dad got and of course to help if needed. but no more planning plzzzz

I was doing a joint party for my kids when they were little (birthdays are 10 days apart). My mother was going to do the cake. She turned up halfway through the party, still mixing the icing.
