@thedogsbydesign: So the first piece of hair I show in this video is “matting” the second one I point to is pelting. What’s the difference? Matting has a little bit of room between the hair and the mat and the skin. Pelting means there is little to no room in between the skin and the matted/pelted hair. When it gets this close (because of owners not coming in enough or brushing their dog) it increases the chances of your dog getting cut significantly. I also state all of this in my release form, & on our website that if you choose our services you’re allowing us to make the responsible, reasonable, & most humane option for your pet. In this video you can see how many times I have to go over the hair to get it to come off. Not only that, but the pressure I have to use laying the clipper flat, to get it to go under that hair, once again creating a higher risk. It’s also risking clipper burn (but if you have 2-3 extra blades you can avoid this and I do, I believe I was told the hot clipper can damage the hair follicle as well, leading to a change in hair growth and texture.) You can also avoid this by making an appt with your dog groomer every 6-8 weeks. #DogsByDesign #TipsForPetGrooming #Dogs #Puppies #DogGrooming
