↓ How to achieve full body mobility __ 1️⃣ Thoracic Rotation Crucial for overall mobility due to its impact on various aspects of movement, posture, and functional activities. Thoracic rotation is essential for maintaining the health of the thoracic spine, which consists of the mid- and upper back. This region is naturally designed for rotation, and regular movement helps prevent stiffness and maintains the flexibility of the thoracic vertebrae. 2️⃣ Hip Mobility The hips play a significant role in maintaining balance and stability. Improved hip mobility allows for better weight distribution and adaptability during activities that challenge balance, reducing the risk of falls and injuries. 3️⃣ Ankle Mobility The ankles serve as the foundation for various movements throughout the body. Adequate ankle mobility allows for proper weight distribution and balance, influencing the quality of movements in the hips, knees, and even the spine. A solid foundation at the ankles contributes to a more stable and controlled range of motion in other joints. Focus on ankle dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion & eversion, as well as sequencing them all together via rotational movements. 4️⃣ Deep Squats Deep squats require a greater range of motion, promoting flexibility in the hip joint. This can contribute to better overall joint health and function. Deep squats put stress on the ligaments and tendons around the hip, promoting the strength and resilience of these connective tissues. This can contribute to injury prevention and joint stability. 5️⃣ Spinal Flexion Spinal flexion is an ESSENTIAL component of maintaining a mobile back. The movement allows for articulation and nourishment of the spinal discs, preventing stiffness and promoting optimal joint function. As with any other movement, please consider Graded Exposure at all times when seeking to restore or progress spinal flexion. 6️⃣ Hamstring Mobility Hamstring mobility contributes to the range of motion in the hip joint and the flexibility of the knee joint. This is crucial for activities involving leg movement, such as walking, running, kicking, and bending at the hips As always, this is not an exhaustive list!! #mobility #fullbodyworkout #physio #hippain #hipmobility #athlete #injuryprevention
