My cholesterol is very high — 300. The doctor said I should take statines, but I decided not to. Instead, I’m using red rice yeast and psyllium. Red rice yeast has the same effect as statines. I eat healthy, exercise regularly, don’t drink alcohol, don’t smoke, and avoid unhealthy fats.

I’ve been afraid to exercise since my heart event. In April 2024 I had a drug-eluting stent (2.9 mm × 22 mm) placed in the proximal LAD after presenting with left jaw, neck, back, and central upper abdominal pain. Angiography showed a chronic total occlusion of the proximal-mid LAD, but fortunately it was well collateralized, so I was managed with PCI and medical therapy (including a Rosuvastatin + Ezetimibe + Clopidogrel + Aspirin + Ramipril), my Calcium score in LAD is 113 and My LIPOPROTEIN A is 133 nmol/L

I just quit taking Lipitor 20 mg, I couldn’t sleep , went to the bathroom all night, appetite was almost zero , stayed tired and muscle cramps after 2 months. Too much for me. He sent me another one can I take something like pumpkin seed oil? My doctor keeps saying statins cholesterol is 300

I was put on statins as a precaution never had high cholesterol nurse told me 15 years off pain memory loss doctors ain't doctors there just Gp s ! bottom line why was i put on this in the first place ? playing with people's lives ain't good

It reduces your risk with about 1%, because people on statin still gets heart disease. The problem is not cholesterol but inflammation. prosesed carbs, sugar and seed oils creates inflammation.

My clinic gave me Lipidex. I have'nt got cholesterol but only high blood pressure. I got leg pains and stopped drinking it. Must I rather continue?

The statin reduces LDL, BUT, it also lowers your HDL. I know I saw this for myself and husband. It reduced his good cholesterol to much! Lab flagged it too low! Cholesterol is needed by the brain, too.

Do your own research! Look at who it does help? People with high risk for heart attack yes you should take. Take them out the rate is low. Also there are tests you can get that checks for future blockages. They same applies to high blood pressure. Check your pressure at home! For many people pressured rises just because your at the doctors office.

Atrovastatin 80 mg liver enzymes ALT,AST and ALP are elevated (high) and Repatha every two weeks. Dr stopped statin. How long does it take to enzymes go back to normal?

Good for nox enzyme homeostasis and maybe stabilising already established plaques. Blocking CoQ10 synthesis hmm, not so sure. Vilification of LDL in all cases, hmm. Needs more context. A work around, not going at the problem. Not a fan, sorry. Blunt tool.
