My family got upset when I didn’t pay almost $1000 everytime to fly out and visit for the holidays. But they never made an effort to come out and visit me. Didn’t even show up to my bootcamp graduation

And if you’re stationed over seas, travel somewhere over seas. Home ain’t going no where, but you might not have the opportunity to travel to some of the places you are close to as easily as you do during that time frame.

The thing I always hated was “when are you going to come home and see me” never “when can I fly out to see you”. It got to the point where I just didn’t want to spend the money to go home anymore because nobody ever made the effort to come see me.

my sister and I flew out for a week to California to see one of my best friend who was in the air force that I knew since childhood. Had a great time and seen so much stuff with him.
