Many of us with food allergies will pack our own safe food for travel. When it comes to flying, there are some rules that need to be followed. This is the first of a little travel series on TSA requirements to help those of us traveling with food allergies, celiac, or those traveling with food for any reason.⁣ ⁣ Ice packs are allowed through TSA security on flights as long as they are fully frozen, not thawed. If the ice pack is defrosted it will be considered a liquid. If it is melted, the ice packs will then be taken and thrown away.
