Ododuwa was not a Yoruba, he was a prince from the Ogiso dynasty before he was sent to exile and he found sanctuary in the Yoruba region and with the gift of his physician healing skills he was able to rescue the daughter of the Oba in the yoruba land and that was how Ododuwa was gifted some parts of the Yoruba region which is now know as ile-ife meaning "Place of Dispersion or House of Expansion" after the death of the Yoruba king Ododuwa was crowned the king of ile-ife and years later there was a chaos at the Ogiso dynasty and which result for the Igodomigodo to restore the hair to the throne and a message was sent to ile-ife but unfortunately Ododuwa was already a king in ile-ife and he sent his son Oranmiyan to reclaim the throne on his behalf, but in a short period of Oranmiyan visit or rule in igodomigodo and before he left the land he called or named the land ile-ibinu which means "Land Of Vexation" Meanwhile he got a lady pregnant who gave birth to a son before he's return back to ile-ife. The kings of Benin kingdom have always been rule by the igodomigodo and stop making the mistake that Benin are from Yoruba, it was the gods that lead the fate for Benin empire to stretch out to the Yoruba region.
