It's not gonna cause a vet visit it doesn't impale you I've used these for my cat inside of the house when she was a kitten to get her to stop eating The house plants it was pretty effective I've even walked across them barefoot, and just pokes you and it's just uncomfortable as soon as you step off it there's no pain the only way it's to hurt you is if you're standing on it for a long period of time and he has the right to protect his plants on his property if dogs constantly peel one area, the ammonia kills The plants and all the grass surrounding all the way down to the route making it an expensive fix to constantly dig it out and re-buy the plants

I completely understand his frustration. I have watch people let their dog pee on my lawn causing yellow spots on my nice beautiful lawn.
