I still can’t accept the fact that he NEVER went to nationals after all the work he’s done, even if he was in internationals in the end. He’s so misunderstood, no one could ever make me hate him❤️‍🩹

People saying Oikawa didn’t have any talent or had less than Kageyama, did NOT understand his character. The issue was not lack of talent, the issue was that he had an inferiority complex. The only reason we buy into it is because his storyline was done in HIS perspective/ narrative. The entire point of Oikawa’s character was to show that having a negative mindset hinders your abilities and that he improved drastically (TS) when he changed his mentality.

i’ve seen alot of people say that seijoh held oikawa back but- it’s oikawa’s loyalty to his team, his dedication to becoming a setter who brings out the best in any teammate, that makes him such a good player. it’s this “worthless pride”, choosing to challenge himself with seijoh rather than taking the easy way out and setting for ushiwaka. going the easy way and choosing shiratorizawa would’ve let oikawa place high in nationals, but a core part of his character is his loyalty and trust to his team. he believes in finding strength through even “weak” or “troubled” teammates, which is both his greatest weakness and ultimately his strength. this “worthless” pride drives him to continue training and become a world renowned setter; a “conductor” who brings out the best in his team, despite not being born with natural technique/talent. tldr; seijoh did prevent him from becoming famous in japan, but taught him the importance of staying true to your goals (while learning to evolve!) imo. idk man i love oikawa 😭😭
