i think it’s worse in korea bc of the dating standards and severe gender norms like males should be masculine and “protective” and girls should be feminine and “protected.” so they bring out the aegyo and high pitch and do things that make the male feel masculine like acting like they can’t do things like open a bottle or something. it’s like not even the standard pick me in korea, it’s like “how to date in korea.” but it’s also ultimately how the dating scene has adapted to korea’s strict gender roles
