$2500 or less is beater territory if people expect anything else they are high, the other issue is these new generations grew up around nice vehicles but they dont have nice vehicle money for themselves and dont know how to cope with a junk car that gets them around

My first reliable car was a 2009 Altima, ac didn’t work. I paid $1500 for it and $1200 to replace the entire AC system. I road her to 300k miles and sold her to buy a new car and suffer with a car payment 🤣

My $1500 find- 180k, AC doesn’t work, needs a ball joint, exhaust manifold gaskets leak slightly (ignoring), has slight leaks at an axle seal and the rear pinion seal. and sometimes you gotta press the window switch a couple times to get it to roll down/up. But guess what, I drove it an hour home with no real issues. This is what you expect at the price point, fixed it enough to pass inspection and I’ll drive it till the wheels fall off

$1500 for that Taurus is a good deal. as a dad, I'm pulling up with my obd2 and my test light and then my son and I would get that mf going. people like to get rid of cars when they don't even know whats wrong with it. parts can be so cheap if you know where to look and labors free if you're good with your hands. as long as I can drive it off the lot, I'll take it
