Amateurs. You wait until right before you're ready to leave to even touch the carrier. You note what room they are in, leave the carrier in the hall or connecting room where it's not in their line of sight, and then pick up the cat before they can ever see the carrier.

TikTok is really spectating my life. Cats went to the vet today. Kylo hid a WHOLE HOUR before we even pulled the carrier out. His pattern recognition/deviation is on point.
