I don’t necessarily regret my school but I regret my expirence. I had huge anxiety in college which unfortunately didn’t get better until it was almost over. I didn’t make the kind of friends and connections and have the expirence I really wanted.

SAME! At 17 I did not realize how choosing the right college was so much more than just academics. I’m always telling my younger cousins this.

My daughter went to Yale. Hated it. Transferred to NYU and has never been happier.

Girl SAME! I should’ve never gone to a commuter school in the city. Should’ve gone to a bigger traditional campus

Agreed 😭 I was a first generation college student so just going to college itself seemed like enough

I don’t regret my college choice but I definitely regret my major.

I regret my college choice as well. Especially after moving to Atlanta. Seeing how well connected everyone who went to Spelman & Morehouse I can’t help but wonder how differently my life would’ve looked if I went there.

I regret not doing internships (even thought I was poor and needed to work) and not being involved in enough extra curricular activities

Yeah I regret that to… I should’ve transferred. Socially it ruined my peak time to make good friends and this a great network later in life. Also experience wise stifled me

I regret where I went too. Yet I didn’t have support to figure anything else out.

Nailed it. My brother and I said picking a college is similar to rolls the dice. You won’t know 100% until you’re on campus. It’s a huge decision made so young

“Do NOT stay in a bad situation” applies to a lot of areas in life! ❤

My parents could not understand my decision to bypass ivys for my HBCU. Best decision I ever made. I receive so many opportunities from going there/being an HBCU grad in general (we all tend to look out for each other in academia & corporate)

Same. Went back to grad school at a dream school to compensate for my undergrad experience.

100% agree. Made no friends and my career choices are limited because there are no companies close to the university tied to my major/no connections

Community colleges do not get enough respect. It’s a great option for kids who are not quite ready to make that decision at 17
